Kenneth L. Stevens

 

 KENNETH L. STEVENS, age 85, of Thorp, WI passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Clark County Rehabilitation & Living Center in Owen, WI. 

 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Thorp Funeral Home in Thorp, with Pastor Nancy Amacher officiating.  Burial will follow in East Thorp Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be: Roger Klanderman, Rich Boie, Jeremy Wall, John Wall, John Plansky, and Bob Pasanen.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, at the funeral home, from 10:00am until time of service.
   

Kenneth Lyle Stevens was born on February 18, 1941 in Wisconsin Dells, WI, the son of Lyle A. and Bernda (Wrezinski) Stevens. He was raised and educated in the Wisconsin Dells area and graduated from Wisconsin Dells High School.  Ken then attended UW-Stevens Point graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Music. 

 

He was united in marriage to Beverley L. Wall on August 17, 1963 at the Congregational Church in Owen. His first teaching assignment was at Winter Public Schools in Winter, WI where he served as band instructor until moving to Thorp in 1966. Ken spent the next 30+ years at Thorp High School as Band Director, working with many, many students until his retirement in 1998. 
   

He had many interests, but especially enjoyed hunting, fishing (where he was known as the "fishin' musician"), doing taxidermy work, collecting guns, and collecting ceramic bottles.
   

Ken is survived by two brothers-in-law: Robert (Janet) Wall of Withee, WI, Woodrow "Woody" (Mary) Wall of Eau Claire, WI; one sister-in-law: Nancy Stevens of Land O'Lakes, WI; five nieces and nephews: Jeremy (Darcy) Wall, John Wall (Jo Jean), Laura Wall, Kurt Stevens, and Rhonda Stevens.  He is further survived by his great nieces and nephews: Caleb, Natalee, Tashana, Jaycee, Anna, Ellen, Gracie, and Eddy.
   

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Beverley L. Stevens, and his brother: Terry Stevens.
