INTERMENT: Mt. Olive Cemetery, Westboro

 

VISITATION: 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 15 at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Rib Lake where there will be a 8:00 P.M. Prayer Service and also from 9:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. Wednesday, April 16 at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Rib LakeDATE & PLACE OF BIRTH: October 24, 1929 in the Township of Greenwood

 

EDUCATION: Attended grade school in the Township of Greenwood

 

MARRIAGE: October 8, 1949 at St. Ann’s Church to Violet “Vi” F. Franck

 

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: Earl worked for Joe Brandner Logging for a number of years. He then owned and operated Earl Thums Forest products for 30+ years until his son Rock took over the business. He also owned and operated a dairy farm and sawmill until his retirement. In his retirement he continued to work at the sawmill and in the woods. In his younger years, Earl and Vi raised and showed Appaloosa horses. He enjoyed deer hunting and visiting with folks. Earl helped family and friends build several homes and garages.

Served as past Chairman for the Town of Westboro for many years
Past Member of the Royal Rough Riders Horse Club of Medford

 

SURVIVING SPOUSE: Violet “Vi” F. Thums of Westboro

 

SURVIVING CHILDREN: Sons: Michael Thums of Westboro, Steve (Wendy) Thums of Westboro and Rock (Donna) Thums of Medford
Daughters: Deborah Waskowiak of Purcell, Oklahoma, Merri (Larry) Faber of Medford and Jodi (Kevin) Weiss of Medford

 

CHILDREN DECEASED: Daughter: Jini Strobach
Son: Joel Thums
Granddaughter: Tori Czarnezki
