INTERMENT: Medford Evergreen II Cemetery, Medford

 

VISITATION: 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 25 at the Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Medford

 

DATE & PLACE OF BIRTH: September 12, 1924 at Loran, Illinois

 

EDUCATION: She attended Pearl City, IL Grade Schools, is a graduate of Pearl City High School and attended Beauty Culture School at Rockford, IL

 

MARRIAGE: 1942 at Loran, Illinois to LaVerle Bicker and he was killed during WWII.
2nd: December 16, 1951 in Lena, Illinois to Leo A. Boelk and he preceded her in death on July 22, 2009

 

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: Gladys worked as a telephone operator in Illinois for a period of time. She owned and operated Kramer Motel in Medford for 4 years. Gladys and Leo owned and operated a dairy farm in the Thorp area for 7 years. Previously she and Leo owned and operated a trucking firm as well as drove a school bus in Illinois for 5 years. Gladys was also a house wife and mother and enjoyed needlework, embroidery, and milking cows.

 

MEMBER OF: Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Medford and Ladies of Immanuel, Medford VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Order of the Eastern Star Medford Chapter #254.

 

SURVIVING CHILDREN: Delmar (Bettina) Boelk of Medford, Tamara (David) Gentry of Saint Paul, Minnesota and Tina Wells of Medford

 

CHILDREN DECEASED: 1 Son in infancy and Son-In-Law: Ethan J. Wells in 2003

 

3 SURVIVING GRANDCHILDREN: Klaus (Angela) Boelk of North Ohlmstead, Ohio, Christopher (Nicole) Boelk of Medford and Brittany Wells of Medford

 

GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: 4

 

SURVIVING SISTER IN LAW: Shirley Krahmer of Freeport, IL

 

BROTHERS DECEASED: Emmerson Krahmer, Kenneth Krahmer and Leonard Krahmer and LaVerne Krahmer
