Eleanor Elizabeth DeMoss, 94, of Withee, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2013 at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen, Wisconsin. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee. Rev. Bonnie Cain will officiate. A visitation will be held Thursday from 1:00 pm until the time of service at the church in Withee. Burial will follow the service in the Sylvan Cemetery in the Town of Reseburg.


Eleanor was born January 21, 1919, at home in southern Wisconsin to Gilbert and Anna (Pingle) Hardy. She attended Poppe School in the country and graduated from Withee High School in 1937. She took a course in nurses training in Marshfield, Wisconsin where she met and married Spencer DeMoss on August 21, 1942. They lived in the Chicago area for a few years before moving back to the Withee area.


Eleanor was a long time member of Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee.
She enjoyed gardening, visiting, making jellies and jam and sewing. She made many quilts, from queen size to crib size, many of her own design. Eleanor especially enjoyed spending time with her family.


Eleanor is survived by her two daughters; Gloria Schaefer of Cypress, Texas and Linda (Sam) Lockhart of Wausau, Wisconsin, three brothers; Keith Hardy of Ely, NV, Henry Hardy of Menomonie,WI and Martin (Dawn) Hardy of Rochester, MN. She is further survived by 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Eleanor is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter; Patricia, one son; Ray and one brother; Lester.
