PLACE, DATE & TIME OF DEATH: 8:30 PM Sunday, November 3 at Golden Living Center – Three Oaks in Marshfield where he had resided for the past 2 months

TIME & PLACE OF SERVICES: 10:30 AM Thursday, November 7 at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford

OFFICIATING: Rev. Richard Kelm of Aseracare Hospice of Weston

INTERMENT: Chelsea Community Cemetery, Township of Chelsea

VISITATION: Hemer Funeral Home, Medford from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, November 6 and also from 9 AM until the time of services at 10:30 AM on Thursday, November 7

DATE & PLACE OF BIRTH: January 23, 1914 at the Township of Chelsea

EDUCATION: Mondeaux Grade School, and was a 1933 graduate of Medford High School

MARRIAGE: 1st: October 13, 1940 at Markville, MN to Marjorie Holmstrom and she preceded him in death March 28, 1967; 2nd: November 30, 1968 at Chelsea to Florence Elsie Shamberg and she preceded him in death July 10, 1991

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: After his education, he was employed as a truck driver in the CCC Camps. From 1941 - 1961 he worked as a truck driver for Kimblom Service in Douglas County. From 1961 – 1978 he worked at Del Monte in Rochelle, IL as a boiler engineer. He retired in 1978 and returned to the Chelsea area. He moved to Medford in 2006. He enjoyed playing horseshoes and bowling leagues.

SURVIVING CHILDREN: Sons – David L. (Mary) Smedegard of Belvidere, IL & Brian K (Laurie) Smedegard of Marshfield; Daughters – Beverly A. (Al) Gelhaye of Richfield, MN & Diane C. (Rod) Ehmen of The Villages, FL

# OF LIVING GRANDCHILDREN: 11 GR-GRANDCHILDREN: 8

SPECIAL FRIEND: Margaret Seidel of Rib Lake

SURVIVING BROTHERS/SISTERS: Sister – Merle Tervi of Wausau
Sister-in-law: Louise Smedegard of Gatesville, TX

BROTHERS/SISTERS DECEASED: Brothers – Jim & Ken Smedegard; Sisters – Leona Steen, Celia Leischer, Verna Wacek, Hazel Wuethrich, Stella Smedegard

DECEASED FATHER: Albert Chris Smedegard DECEASED MOTHER: Minnie Jarchow

PALLBEARERS: Grandchildren – Brad Chipman, Kirsten Miller, Megan Ehmen, Kathy Damon, Mike & Andrew Smedegard
