Dennis Wayne Lukes, 77, Town of Ogema, died in the Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff on Tuesday, June 25.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois, on December 4, 1935, the son of Joseph and Josephine Lukes. He attended the Westboro High School in Westboro. He was merried to Joyce Kurth in Catawba on December 11, 1954. He operated a dairy farm in the Town of Ogema and logged. He enjoyed his animals, especially the cows, trips to the casino, listening to country music, and visiting with his friends.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; by one son, Rick (Anna), Catawba; by two daughters, Nancy (Kenneth) Wanish, Catawba, Jani (Nicholas) Lallemont, Phillips; by 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; and by one sister, Pearl Olson, Medford. He is preceded in death by one daughter, Katina Mabie; by one granddaughter, Cassandra Wanish; by two sisters, Kathryn Nussberger and Ruby Brantner; and by one brother, Donald.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 29, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Catawba with Father Gerald Hagen officiating. Interment will be in the Catawba Cemetery in Catawba. Friends may call at the church after 10:00 A.M. on Saturday until the time of services
