PLACE, DATE & TIME OF DEATH: 9:30 P.M. Saturday, May 4 at the Memorial Health Center, Medford where he had been taken earlier by ambulance


TIME & PLACE OF SERVICES: 11:00 A.M. Friday May 10 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford

 

OFFICIATING: Father Gerard Willger and Deacon Joseph Stefancin

INTERMENT: Cremainal Inurnment will take place at a later date in Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, Medford


VISITATION: 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, May 9 at the Hemer Funeral Home, Medford where there will be a 7:45 P.M. Prayer Service and also from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. Friday, May 10 at the Hemer Funeral Home, Medford


DATE & PLACE OF BIRTH: February 21, 1942 in Chili, Wisconsin


EDUCATION: Graduate of Marshfield High School


MARRIAGE: June 15, 1963 at St. Stephens Catholic Church, Chili to Billie Lee Binning.


PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: After high school, Al entered the mill working industry at Weyerhaeuser and continued his career at both Anson-Gilke and Weather Shield. Following this Al worked for the state agriculture department doing field survey work and was also a small business owner selling his "Woodfolke" art and carvings.


Outside of work Al enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, canoeing, camping, oil painting, carving, reading, and being a connoisseur of Jack Daniels. Al was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will truly be missed.

SURVIVNG SONS-IN-LAW: Rick Friendefels and Pat Graf both of Medford


DECEASED DAUGHTERS: Angela A. Friedenfels on July 21, 2006 and Stephanie L. Graf on September 29, 2006.


SURVIVING GRANDDAUGHTERS: Kristin (Matt) Lekie of Crystal, MN, Nicole Graf of Oshkosh and Sam (Significant Other: Troy Sigmund) of Medford


SURVIVNG GREAT-GRANDSONS: Anthony John and Shea Patrick Graf


DECEASED FATHER: Alvord H. Selk Sr.


DECEASED MOTHER: Mable P. Selk (Maiden Name: Verhegan)


HONORARY PALLBEARERS: Rick Friedenfels, Pat Graf, Ron and Matt Lekie, Troy Sigmund and Todd Nernberger
