PLACE, DATE & TIME OF DEATH: 10:30 PM Sunday, January 27 at his residence in the Village of Stetsonville under the loving care of his wife, family and Hope Hospice

TIME & PLACE OF FUNERAL: Memorial Services will be at 1:00 PM Friday, February 1, 2013 at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford with military rites performed by the Medford Area Military Honors Team

INTERMENT: Cremainal Inurnment will take place at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery

VISITATION: 11:00 AM until the time of services at 1:00 PM Friday, February 1, at Hemer Funeral Home

DATE & PLACE OF BIRTH: October 3, 1932 in Milwaukee WI

EDUCATION: He attended kindergarten at Milwaukee Public Schools and then attended grades 1 thru 8 at Holy Rosary Catholic School, Medford. 1951 graduate of Medford High School and attended the UW - Madison.

MARRIAGE INFORMATION: November 14, 1986 at Hopkinsville, KY to Susan Hoffman Martin

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War where he served from 1951 to 1954. While in the military, he was awarded several awards including a Purple Heart. After the service he attended UW-Madison for a year. He returned to Medford in 1975 and worked for the US Postal Service as a mail carrier, clerk, & janitor until retirement. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, camping, playing cards, & reading.

MEMBER OF: He was a lifetime member of Klossner - Dietzler VFW #5729, Medford

SURVIVING SPOUSE: Susan Franke of Stetsonville

SURVIVING CHILDREN: Daughters: Marjorie (John) Kennedy of Singapore, Laura (Robert) Sargent of Sun Prairie, Susan (Bruce) Guenther of Beaver Dam; Sons: Steven Franke of Madison, Michael (Nancy) Franke of Cottage Grove, Ryan (Kristin) Martin of Medford, and Jonathan (Lisa Zink) Martin of Stetsonville

GRANDCHILDREN: Meredith & Andrew Kennedy, Krista, Kayla, & Sarah Franke, Brianna & Ayden Martin, Mitchell & Sylvia Guenther, Austin Sorum

SURVIVING BROTHERS/SISTERS: Brother - Richard (Darlene Brost) Franke of Medford
Sister – Virginia (Orin) Koch of Hopkinsville, KY
