Marilyn B. Carstensen, 82, of Medford passed away on Tuesday, January 30th at Aspirus Medford hospital. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 17th from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford. Followed by a private family service with Father David Neuschwander officiating. Urn bearers will be grandsons, Mark Nowak, Vincent and David Dobeck, Tim Ziembo, Zach and Alex Carstensen.
Marilyn was born on October 16th, 1935 in Deer Creek to the late Herman and Juila (Stendal) Berger. She went to Deer Creek School and attended Medford High School. Her marriage to Daniel Carstensen took place at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford on October 24th, 1953. He preceded her in death on August 31st, 2014.
She was a stay at home mom and did day care until her children were in school. She then worked in the kitchen at the Medford Nursing Home and later at Memorial Hospital, and in the laundry at Memorial Hospital until her retirement.
Marilyn is survived by her children: Barb (Bill) Ziembo of Brooklyn Center, MN, Lori (Mike) Dobeck of Henderson, NV, Donna (Pete) Nowak, Dan-Butch (Jill) Carstensen, Mike (Denise) Carstensen all of Medford. One bother in law: Vernon Berger of Medford. 17 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Evsich and brothers, Robert Berger, Donald Berger and Wallace and Ruth in infancy.
