BENJAMIN R. GOSAR, age 24, of Rib Lake, WI, passed away at University Hospital, in Madison, WI, on Saturday, July 8, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Holy Family Catholic Church, in Willard, WI. Rev. Steve Brice will officiate and burial will follow in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Gregory Gosar, Tony Gosar, Joshua Gosar, Greg Schieber, Brian Schieber and Joseph Maxwell. Visitation will be held from 5pm to 8pm on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the church, and again on Friday, from 10am until time of service.
Benjamin Roy Gosar was born on July 24, 1992 in Marshfield, WI, to Valentine R. and Carol L. (Miller) Gosar. For most of his childhood he was raised and received his education in the Chili area. In 2007, he moved to Greenwood, where he graduated from Greenwood High School in 2010. After high school, Ben enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was discharged after a short time due to a knee injury. He then worked as a welder, mechanic and in construction building homes.
Ben had many interests, but especially loved playing basketball, hunting, fishing, and tinkering on cars.
He will be dearly missed by his father, Val Gosar of Chili; one brother: Gregory Gosar of Little Chute, WI; two sisters: Briahna Miller of Medford, WI, Chayla Dobson of Black River Falls, WI; his paternal grandmother: Donna Handke of Greenwood, WI; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Ben was preceded in death by his mother, Carol, on January 30, 2013.
