  Louis John Koffler Sr., 94, Ogema, died in the Aspirus Medford Hospital in Medford on Thursday, July 31, 2014.'

  He was born in Illinois on September 22, 1919, the son of Frank and Frances Koffler.  He served his country in the U.S. military during World War II.  He was married to Laura Boushon in Chili, Wisconsin, on June 4, 1955.  They lived in Oxford, Wisconsin, Tomahawk and then moved to Ogema in 1976.  He operated L and J Sales and Service small engine repair in Tomahawk and was employed by Abbotsford Auto in Abbotsford.  He attended the First Lutheran Church in Ogema.  In his free time he enjoyed hunting, watching wildlife, playing cards and visiting with his friends.

  He is survived by three children, John (Sharon) Koffler of Rhinelander, Louis Jr. (Donna) Koffler of Colby and JoAnn (Dennis) Vail of Arizona.  He is further survived by 8 grandchildren and by 19 great grandchildren.

  He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura, on January 1, 2014.  By one brother, Frank and by two sisters, Estelle Warchal and Jean.

  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 12 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Lutheran Church in Ogema with Pastor Robert Giese officiating.  Interment will be held in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Westboro.  Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until time of the services.

  The Heindl Funeral Home in Prentice is assisting the family with arrangements.
