VISITATION: Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Rib Lake from 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM on Friday, July 11

 

DATE & PLACE OF BIRTH: March 20, 1919 at Thorp, WI

 

EDUCATION: St. Bernard’s Catholic Church School, Thorp, WI

 

MARRIAGE: May 3, 1939 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Thorp to Manford William Nye & he preceded her in death 1-20-96

 

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: After their marriage, they farmed in the Thorp area until moving to the Rib Lake area in 1947. They farmed there until moving into the Village of Rib Lake. She worked as a gluer for Gem Products Shoe Factory in Rib Lake for 20 years. Then she worked 2 years at the Rib Lake Health Care Center. She has resided in Antigo since 2008. She enjoyed walking.

 

MEMBER OF: Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Rib Lake and was a past member of its Christian Mothers

 

SURVIVING CHILDREN: Ronald (Myra) Nye of Antigo & Lois (Roman) Lamberty of Jasper, TX
Granddaughter – Nikki Lamberty of TX
Special God-Daughter: Bernadine Nitz of Appleton

 

CHILDREN DECEASED: Grandson – Shannon Lamberty

 

SURVIVING BROTHERS/SISTERS: Brothers – Bernard (Mary Ann) Mertens of Thorp, Robert (Rosaile) Mertens of Thorp & Father Michael Mertens of La Crosse
Sisters – Margaret Slowiak of Stanley, Delores Techmeir of Stanley & Theresa Westberg of Altoona

 

BROTHERS/SISTERS DECEASED: Catherine Hazuga, Helen Koenig, Ruth Weix, Marie Weix, Francis & Hugo Mertens

 

DECEASED FATHER: Oscar Mertens

 

DECEASED MOTHER: Catherine Heiman

 

OTHER INFORMATION: In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to either Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Rib Lake or the Rib Lake Fire Department
