Dorothy I. Anderson, age 90, of Dorchester, died Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Pine Ridge Assisted Living Center in Colby. Her funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, June 9, 2014 at Peace United Church of Christ in Dorchester, WI, the Rev. Kenneth A. Dix presiding. Burial will be at the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery, North.
Dorothy was born October 28, 1923, in the Town of Holton, WI, to Louis and Amelia (Moder) Lueddecke. She received her education in the Pickard Grade School and was a 1941 graduate of Dorchester High School. Dorothy worked on her parent’s farm before her marriage to Gordon Anderson which took place on May 12, 1945 at the Courthouse in Wausau. The couple farmed in the Township of Holton, before moving to the Village of Dorchester in 1976. Dorothy was a member of Peace United Church of Christ, Dorchester and its Evening Circle, was the financial secretary for the church and was a Sunday School teacher.
Dorothy enjoyed cooking and baking, especially bread making and she took pride in good housekeeping.
Dorothy is survived by one son; Lyle Anderson of Madison and one brother; Lester Lueddecke of Stratford.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband; Gordon and one sister; Mabel Zugier.
The Maurina Schilling Funeral Home in Dorchester is assisting Dorothy’s family with funeral arrangements.
