The Medford Planning Commission met Monday night. Prior to the meeting, a public hearing was held with time for residents to speak their opinion regarding an “In Home” business at 630 E Pine Street.
Jennifer and Bradley Rau’s neighbors were split in opinions. Some were in favor of the permit and others were against the idea. Jennifer Rau told the committee that she has a Palate studio with up to 4 clients at one time. The sentiment of the committee mirrored the sentiment of the neighbors with the committee voting 3 to 2 in favor of granting the conditional use permit for a Monday through Saturday business operation.
Next the commission reviewed the site plan for the new Forward Financial Bank building at the corner of Highway 13 and Conrad Street. One key issue is the entrance & exit driveway permit. The D.O.T. is requiring that an entrance and exit driveway be on Conrad Street.
The D.O.T. has said that the highway 13 driveway will be exit only. Initial site work may begin in mid-August with construction on the 5,200 square foot building later in the month.
