John Clausnitzer

John Clausnitzer
Get to know me.

My name is John Clausnitzer, born and raised here in Medford. I am one the sales associates here at K99 and I cover the communities of Athens, Edgar, Gilman, Lake Holcombe, Abbotsford, Colby, Marathon and Wausau.
I'm married to my wonderful wife Dawn and have three beautiful daughters. Jenice, Hailee and Delani. We currently live in Stetsonville.
There are many things I do with my "spare time." I officiate football and basketball mostly at the high school level. But, the thing I enjoy doing the most is coaching my daughters in T-Ball, fast pitch softball and basketball.. So, as you can see, the term spare time is a relative term. Sometimes I forget where home is I'm gone so much.
Please, if you'd like to get a hold of me, email me at I always enjoy receiving emails, so feel free to send away.

Russ Gowey

I guess I was called Gabby Gowey before I even knew how to talk.
My wife, Judy, and I were both born and raised working hard on our parents dairy farms in Taylor county. We were high school sweethearts and married three years after graduating from Medford High School. Judy is my true soulmate and the love of my life. We are the proud parents of two children, Brandi and Shain and our six grandchildren. I started playing (not working) at WIGM radio in 1968 part time and full time in 1971. After 40 years on the air, I still feel like it's play rather than work.
Judy and I have had many experiences over the years travelling either by car, motorcycle or in our plane, but we feel "there is no place like home". I have had chances to work elsewhere, but to live and raise our family in this area was our top priority. Looking at our family now, it was the right decision. In retrospect, it was also the right decision to remain at WIGM/WKEB. This is my second home and the people here are my second family.
As the voice in the morning on WKEB for so many years, ( I believe I have more "on air" hours than any announcer in the midwest,) it has always been my pleasure to inform and entertain the fine people who tune in to be part of our listening family. I would hope I have been a part of your family these many years as well.
Be well, be safe.
Russ Gowey

Hello and thank you for checking out our website! Unlike Russ, I have less “on air” hours than any other staff here at WIGM/WKEB and that’s alright with me.
I grew up on Hideaway Resort in Chippewa Falls on Lake Wissota, yes the Chi-Hi Cardinals but a die-hard Raiders fan today. In the summers of 1982 and 1983, I traveled with the Kids from Wisconsin troupe as a singer/dancer. I received my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Northwestern – St. Paul, MN. I’ve spent the majority of my career working for Cray Research, Inc., Lawson Software, and Star Exhibits & Environments in accounting, and sales & marketing departments. My family, Sheldon, Sam, Katie, and I moved to Medford in 2003. As a family, we enjoy our time at our cabin taking in all activities the outdoors has to offer – tubing, skiing, sand volleyball, four-wheeling, cross country skiing, and snowmobiling. When not at the cabin, you can find us sitting on a bench cheering on our kids at one of their sports activities. John – take care of my daughter during basketball season. I also enjoy a good book, a great movie and exercise and run because I believe taking care of myself will help me be around physically and mentally when it comes time to enjoy grandchildren (but not anytime soon). Secretly, I’d like to give acting a try in our Medford Area Community Theatre, but don’t tell Pat. I’m not sure my old brain could remember the lines! I’m elated to be a part of this family here at WIGM/WKEB and look to many fun and exciting years to come.

Welcome to my little K99 korner!!!!
I'm originally from Horicon, Wisconsin. A proud graduate of St. Malachy Catholic School. Class of '74! Go, Raiders! HHS Class of '78! Go, Marshmen! I'm also a 1985 grad of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a degree in Theatre. Go Blugolds! Upon graduating from UWEC, my wife Lisa & I spent a few years working in professional theatre in the Twin Cities with stops at the Guthrie, Chanhassen & CLIMB, just to name a few.
How did I end up here? When you marry the farmer's daughter sooner or later you end up on the farm.
In 1989, we moved to Goodrich to work the family dairy farm. Because my wife Lisa felt I needed a "hobby", I applied and was accepted at WIGM FM, the Cool FM, as a part time night DJ. First solo "on air" shift, Labor Day night 1993. In March 1994, I became the full time afternoon DJ & copy writer. So long farm, hello radio!
Since coming to the Medford area, I've done some Youth Basketball & T-Ball Coaching and, because once you're bitten by the "theatre bug" you're never cured, I am a co-founder & current president of the Medford Area Community Theatre.
One of the great "perks" of working here at K99 is the opportunity to get out and broadcast area high school games. Nothing brings our community together like supporting our young people. But, remember, it's just a game...we do this because it's fun.
My dad once told me, "Most people work so they can make money to do something else. The lucky ones are those who get paid to do what they love." Count me among the lucky ones!

Home is really where you make it, I was born and raised into a hard working family in Medford, I grew up working on our Christmas tree farms along with "running the board" for Milwaukee Brewer Baseball before the days of automation here at K99. I was able to attend college for business management and moved back to Medford shortly after. My work history has taken me many places including around the country installing electronic equipment in baseball stadiums to working on local mink ranches. Variety in jobs has always been fun for me, never a dull day!
And i still use that concept daily controlling the computer automation for getting the radio ads placed on the air along with radio advertising sales. Radio has always been a part of my family and I hope to continue this passion and family business on for future generations. Growing up, everyone would always use the phrase "cant wait to get out of Medford". But looking at the business men and woman I deal with on a daily basis in this community, I couldn't imagine being anywhere else. I am a proud member of the Medford Area Fire Department, along with Christmas tree farmer and avid sportsman.
